A total of 57 UK charities are now enjoying the cost-saving benefits of using Megaman low energy light bulbs. Around 65,000 of the bulbs, which consume only 20% of the power of old fashioned incandescent bulbs, were recently given to leading distribution charity In Kind Direct, who passed them on to the other charities.
A wide spectrum of charities eventually benefitted from the donation, including those delivering local community initiatives, youth care, housing and homelessness support, and child sickness & disability services.
One example is the 24x7 Special Needs Holiday Trust, which was created to provide Europe's first dedicated overseas holiday centre (in Portugal) for children with special needs. The centre enables children to enjoy a relaxing and fun holiday – either with their families or as a respite care holiday for children.
