Energy Saving on Ice

Megaman lamps have been used to significantly reduce energy consumption, whist complying with ISO guidelines, at Plymouth Pavilions, a multi-purpose leisure facility in the South West of England. As one of the leading entertainment venues in the area, Plymouth Pavilions offers entertainment, concert, leisure and conference facilities.

The introduction of a strict environmental policy at the complex as part of the ISO 140001 objectives coincided with the existing lighting coming to the end of it's life. With this in mind, management at the facility contacted local electrical wholesaler Edmundsons and asked them to carry out a survey to see what energy saving could be achieved. With their advice, the simple change to lamps from Megaman's energy saving range - without the need to change the existing fittings - showed that Plymouth Pavilions should see a return on investment within 9 months of fitting.

The ice rink was the first area to be converted to Megaman's 320W CLUSTERLITE is an innovative, high wattage lighting solution that provides a real alternative to HID lamps.
